this week

This week : Nas and BBQ at prospect part.

Tuesday I went to Nasty Nas show at Blender at Gramercy theatre ! Damn hot there ! Wo people were looking at me jealous with my fan ! Even with the fan, too hot… It was suppose to start a 8pm… Was there at 7:30 wait with some nice music, the dj knew his classics and was happy to know it lol kind of ” well you want to listen to real hip hop ! HERE we go !! “… Seems really proud of him. But anyway it was a nice playlist, could do much better tho ! So Nas came around 9:00, not a big surprise, the guy like to make you wait lol. Kelis was there to support her partner, in a nice blue dresses.. With a weird blond wing… and too much make up a kind of too different from people in the place, even in the VIP place lol. It was a little place… And she came like she just came back from a shooting. Anyway.. The introduction of Nas was a kind of theatral thing. A white master speaking to a slave, callinf him “nigger, nigger, nigger”… And after Nas came began with some songs from the new album. a big fuck to FOX new lol… Some speach about Obama etc. And after Nas go back in the days, with all the classics ! CLASSICS ! It was really nice, but too hot, and nas isnt the best on stage.. Kind of boring…
I left before the end, in the same time than Kelis lol, trying to go out without that anybody saw her… But girls saw her “heyyy pictureeees” haha she didnt give a fuck…

Well after in the week i just work as always witht he kids. And friday i went to nyc, frank and his friend, david came to pick me up at penn station, i got this big bag cuz i will go to Fire island tomorrow, and two cake for the BBQ and a salad… So we went to buy some stuff for the bbq and for frank to do his cakes. Wait a lonnng time to pay damnn… Just 3 ladies were working, and one just shut the light off when it was our turn.. So we wait again !

After that we went to the aeroport of Newark to pick up another friend of him fro texas… And at least came back to BK !! Saturday we went to the bbq at prospect park, nice, really hot tho. Good meat, nice cake from frank lol. I stayed seat like all the time lol. next to a tree. And standed up to speak with Marco polo that i met one month ago with frank and Eva for a brunch, and Russel from The ARE, and Kerry or Kenny a friend of Frank.. After a while they left and i tried to play football wth some guys lol… pretty bad but i tried my best lol ! Gave up after i while tho lol they played serious game ! And after i left to go back to Frank’s apt.

Next week no BK, no NYC, no shows ! Just beach at Fire island for a week. And after that 3 august ! ROCK THE BELLS 🙂 with free tickets from frank – hum still wait to see them in real lol.

Another BK weekend

Sleeping in the Bronx, spent the day in BK… Took the 4 train to 14street and the F train ( no C train running this week end ! ).
Friday, Malaysian restaurant in China town with Frank. Then go to his crib to watch a french movie i never seen before yet, “The child”, heard a lot of things about it… Well… Not that good… I imagined that better and with more difficulties to bring back home the baby. Then another movie.. I missed like 3/4 of this movie, but seemed good lol. Dont even remember the name. Then stayed there because it was too late/early in the morning to go back to the Bronx. So i went back to the bx in the afternoon. To changed me before BK hip hop Festival.
Well… Bronx is pretty much as you can imagine. A lot of people in the street, music everywhere, cars everywhere with people inside… Parking cars with cars inside ( yeah normal ) but with the music on lol… Chair on the walkway. Fire hydrant open with the water everywhere on the street.

Oh and those stairs… Well i had a lot of pain again with my stuff…

So i went to BK hip hop festival after a while in the bx. It was a beautiful… Between BK bridge and Manhattan bridge, close to the river…

So i saw KRS-one for the second time, nice time, primo too. Beautifuul people, cute kids, good energy. Then i walked on BK bridge… First time !! lol i took a long time to decide to do it… since january haha. It was the perfect weather to do it tho !

Summer Stage !

I love summerstage ! Free and nice… Bring ur food, ur drink, ur blanket.. And u will have a nice moment !
Today, 6th sunday… It was U-roy… Not really what i like…
Then Afrika bambaataa, nice, not really musically.. Just fun to see them all. Having fun, dancing.
AND THEN… THE REAL GOOD MUSIC ! SEUN KUTI ( thx to lysiane to advice me to see him ! ) woo i was all wet, it’s been a while ( did i already dance like that ? ) i didn’t dance like that ! Great moment… Great band ! I love the Kuti ! Tribute to Fela for sure. Old and new songs.. Just great… He is nice, talented, he smiles a lot, he dances in his own way (lol, the ass ! The ass lol ). It’s just great !

Oh saturday i went to BK museum with frank, eva and ifeoma. Nice expo – long it’s great – of Murakami, funny, frank took some pic, we weren’t able to take pictures

July 4th in NYC

Independance day… Well. What did i do ?
Left GermanTown in NY, upstate… To NYC. Went to frank’s house in bk.. Rain for vacation ! GREAT. We went to a shop in BK, Harriet’s alter ego… Didn’t find anything, the fela’s t shirt was too small 😦 So we went to SoHo, to change the flip flop he got me, too big for me. I bought on dress and one short.. We came back to his apt. His roomate and his friend went to take some meat for the BBQ. They came back, i cut the fruit for the sangria, they cooked the meat, did the macaroni cheese.. And we went with frank in the first cap to Anu’s apt, and then Eva, ifeoma and Vasco. bring the food because she doesn’t have a grill. And we went to the top if the building, to watch the Fireworks lol. It was nice, nice view, fun. And we went to eat ! too good, don’t taste all tho And that’s pretty much it. Nothing really special if not a good dinner 🙂

PS : yeah we lost electricity for some minutes, Anu forgot that she can put the microonde in the same time than the AC

Mos def Carnegie Hall + After Party

A nice day in NYC. Began with a nice brunch. And BK for the Mike Schreiber’s exposition.
Then, “Wanted”… Not that good, really not what i like as movie lol. And… 1 hour late for Mos def ahh, fuck this F train sorry.. 60 dollars please, i coudnt be late.. but i was !
Anyway. I’m there, time for the break wo… 1 hour late nooo !
But ahh i got 1 hours and half ! I wish i could see the 2hours and half !
Mos def is just wonderful with like 20 musicians ! Just amazing… Really. Fela’s tribute, Dilla’s tribute, “Mr president” to OBAMA… GIL SCOTT HERON as guest, there for 30 minutes… Emotion, music… Quality ! Tribute to Jay electronica.. ! Mos def is just the most beautiful boogie man !

But i wasn’t done with 1hour half so i called my friend ” can i come to the after party?”.. I went, thank to you ! It was great. 2 or 3 hours more ! With glasper, chris dave, cassey and some others from the show ! Great… Slum village, John coltrane… Mos def showed us all his influences.. And the musicians just had fun this night. And we had too.
